The Camphor Tree

This is the website of Steve "Steve-o" Stonebraker. The site is mostly dormant or static, with small areas of activity. Stuff to find here:

• A blog: I set this blog up when the covid pandemic started and might(?) at some point begin posting semi-regularly, especially as social media becomes more and more useless.
  • A list of physics Desmos graphs and simulations that I've created for teaching is the main thing hosted and maintained within the blog for now.
• Steve-o's Transformers Site: Woefully out-of-date, but presented mainly as an archive of the files and info that I posted here long ago. Don't trust the "Transformers FAQ" you see there. Go to TFWiki.net instead.
  • My Transformers books archive is an exception and gets sporadic, ongoing work! It's the most important/valuable sub-area.
• Agony and Rapture: My ironic "tribute" to the sickness of unrequited love. Writing this material in the early 2000s was like therapy for me, and I never did it to myself again afterward. Don't be like I was!
• Stonebraker's Teaching & Learning Resources: A very old collection of science and math materials showcasing some of what I wrote in the first few years of my high school teaching career. Many of these are not the sort of thing I would make anymore, but I still sort of "like" them for certain use-cases.

I am a lifelong science and math nerd. I read comics, play Nintendo, and collect Transformers toys. I've lived in western Pennsylvania, central Ohio, central Florida, and Massachusetts.

The site's domain name is a reference to My Neighbor Totoro, one of my favorite films. The Totoros in the film make their home inside an enormous camphor tree.
