Starscream, after the nth attempt to take over Megatron's job, is banished to Guadalcanal Island, where he discovers the old husks of WWII buried in the sand. After swiping personality components of Decepticon political prisoners from Cybertron, he animates these vehicles into living 'Cons, who all try and fail to destroy Megatron. Starscream is then banished to a moldy asteroid. I tried looking for some funny quotes to put in the TF Weekday report, and I couldn't find any. This is a deadly serious episode, pulling no punches and leaving no doubts or plot holes. Although you wonder if Megatron has any compassion by virtue of his not ever destroying his own troops, even if it is Starscream. Perhaps he doesn't want to waste the energy. Ever notice how cheesy and overacted the Combaticons' voices are? It struck me that maybe they're supposed to be reminiscent of old 40's war movie actors. or maybe I'm just flipping out again. Obviously this episode exists to sell the current Combaticon toys. I have to take my hat off to the artist who designed the cartoon versions of these characters. They're so much more detailed and interesting than the toys, with little pipes and pockets and suggestions of their vehicle forms (like the windshield on Swindle's chest). And did you notice that each Combaticon was drawn to scale with their vehicle form? Swindle is smaller than all of them, and Blast-off is only shorter than Onslaught, who is believably bigger. Toys they should reissue: Soundwave Thrust (often featured this ep) Stunticons (who trashed Bruticus at the end) "We are under strict orders not to let anyone travel to Cybertron without proper authorization." (points gun) "This is my authorization!" KKC, who is spending too damn much money on old TF's. Please help me :) -- Kendrick Kerwin Chua - kendrick@io.com - "Hey man, your bike's on fire."
