The Bots discover dinosaur bones buried in Mt. Saint Hilary, and Wheeljack decides to create some Autobots designs based on the giant reptiles. Meanwhile, Soundwave and Reflector do field research on hydro-electric power. The Dinobots, Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge, are created, and almost destroy AHQ. Optimus orders the plug pulled, and they're buried in the volcano, never to be reactivated. Meanwhile, Megatron goes off to raid the dam and set a trap for the Autobots, who all plunge off a waterfall and short circuit. Wheeljack reactivates the Dinobots with new memory enhancements that make them less destructive and more cooperative, but still dumb as an inbred muskrat. Between the three of them, they are able to beat the tar out of Megatron and some dozen or so Decepticons, and Prime allows the Dinobots to remain among the Autobots. Just a few quick notes before I go off to drop my Latin course... This is the origin episode for the Dinobots, and one of the original 13 episodes that was chosen for G2 graphics conversion. Interesting to compare this with the comic book version of the Dinobot origins, that the Ark based their designs on 4 million BC Earthen creatures (Never mind the time screw up...) The ep has a few minor animation glitches (Bluestreak talks with three different voices and Ratchet loses his right leg for about a minute while tending to Bumblebee) but they're all made tolerable by the novelty of the Dinobots. Gregg Berger, the guy who does Grimlock's voice, is noted for doing cavemen and other primitive types in countless other cartoons. "Which ones friends?" "One's with this face, I think." (points to Autobot Symbol on chest) "That good enough for me, Slag!" BLAM KKC, needs free time and a trip to Shanghai. -- Kendrick Kerwin Chua - kendrick@io.com - "Hey man, your bike's on fire."
