Equipping it with remote-control devices, TORQ takes control of oil tankers and starts shunting them towards Decepticon HQ. While Hound and Skyfire check out the tankers, Prime, some Autobots and the Dinobots go off to rescue some humans trapped by TORQ. After stomping several tanks, mobile platforms, and hideous tentacled machines, Prime dupes TORQ into thnking that he's being remote controlled, and destroys the computer. However, Megatron still has remote control on his end, and all the Autobots get together, free the tankers, and drive the Decepticons away. Ten years since this episode was broadcast and still the fears of domination by computers runs rampant. This could be something brand new, and the machines and the systems depicted in this episode wouldn't look dated or campy at all. All we needed were some micro-nannite machines and superconductivity and this would have been right up-to-date. This is a beautifully animated episode, with lots of neat and tidy little bits contributing to the visual side of the story. Skyfire half-transforms ala Robotech, in order to land on a oil tanker and let Hound and Spike off. Also, you see several Autobots not just standing there shooting at Decepticons, but also lying down taking prone positions to present a smaller target. The dinobots are quite a sight, melting and crushing and stomping their way through a military green demolition derby. Toys they should reissue: Soundwave (dammit!) Some tapes (lots of action from Frenzy and Rumble this ep) "It's a safe bet that door's locked." "Fortunately, I happen to have a delicate lock picking machanism..." shweeeeeeeeTHOOOOOM! BLAM! KKC, is very unhappy with his local FOX affiliate because this is the second time they've screwed up their TF broadcast. First they leave the tape on pause for a minute and a hlf during Dinobot Island, and today they cut out the sound for most of the middle segment of the program. -- Kendrick Kerwin Chua - kendrick@io.com - "Hey man, your bike's on fire."
