Megatron stages a fight as a front to capture Gears, Autobot Recon boy. Apparently Megs needs a special sensor component from Gears' system to complete his new EI/AD, a solar collector that taps into the heart of the nuclear reactions inside the sun. Two problems with this; not only does the tapping of energy make the sun potentially explosive, but removing the component from Gears also shuts down his personality circuitry, making him effectively lobotomized and suggestible. The Autobots arrive, almost lose the fight, and with Gears' help they drive away the Decepticons and blow up the solar collector. What a well animated episode. If only they took the time to create a plausible storyline. It's a happy day, so I'll concentrate on the good parts of this ep... You see lots of unique and distinct animation for this episode (IE They didn't recycle too much transforming animation from older episodes to make this one work.) Ratchet does his trademark karate-kick to down SkyWarp (he does it again in other episodes too) and you see Jazz and Sunstreaker hanging off of Prime's rear-view mirrors, blasting a path through the African jungle. There are also a lot of cute moments with Gears doing Megatron's dirty work with a sweet disposition, and Ratchet and Wheeljack arguing over how to deactivate the EI/AD ("All we have to do is pull that wire." "No, this wire." "Are you crazy? It's that one...") I wish Starscream weren't as much of an idiot. He supposed to be one of the most suave, sophisticated, intelligent of the Decepticons. So what does he do but totally ignore Megatron's ultimate plans and concentrate on blowing things up. Nice that he noticed that the Sun was going unstable, though, at least that was in character. "Sure Megatron, heh heh! What can I do for you, you rotten junkheap?" KKC, In jacksonville Bonkers comes on before TF and I noticed that Corey Burton, the guy who does Shockwave's voice, is responsible for Bonker's voice. Be afraid, be very afraid. Also, are you sick of seeing Power Wheels and Dr. Dreadful commercials? Don't you wish they'd show GIJoe and Transformers commercials like they used to do during TF? -- Kendrick Kerwin Chua - kendrick@io.com - "Hey man, your bike's on fire."
