Megatron builds the latest Evil Invention/Alien Device, the transfixatron, which prevents a TF from becoming a robot. They Cons capture the Bots at the show. They threaten them with the second EI/AD, a garbage compactor. Wheeljack and a few other Bots who weren't a part of the show save the other Bots. This is such a ludicrous episode to begin with that I won't even start the real nitpicks (Ironhide needs a muffler? Where did Skywarp keep the transfixatron in plane mode? Why isn't Chip in the stands with the rest of the audience?) A couple of colouring problems and voice processing errors keep this from being a tolerably stupid episode. For example, Skywarp is colored like Starscream in not one, or two, but three distinct scenes. Also, Michael Bell's performance as Scrapper is runined by the fact that the lack of flanging makes him sound exactly like Prowl. Since I've seen this ep a billion times already (from Sat. Morn.) I took time out to read some of the old G1 comics while I was recording and I noticed something. For every TF, at least once while standing around talking or shooting a gun or whatever, he is standing in the same pose as in his Transformers Universe entry. For those of you not familiar with that, the Tf U was a Marvel anthology of all the tech spec entries and art in a comic book format. You get the feeling that this episode was a training vehicle for some budding new animators, perhaps some of Romita's Raiders by the look of the art. Stroke for stroke, they're the same pictures. Does anyone like this new narrator Hal Raye? "Going ballistic to destroy the Autobots and conquer mankind..." I think he's way overplayed. I would prefer it if they got Vince Caroli to come back and do those commercial/intro spots again... "It is the year 2005." "We now return to the Transformers." You also wonder if he did any TF voices. "Whatsa matter, got lead in your camshaft?" "I don't see _you_ breaking the sound barrier..." "Stifle it, Huffer, or I'll put my footeeo in your audio.." "I'm transforming! I see my true beauty emerging!" KKC, still waiting for Darkwing to make an appearance in NE FL toy stores. Paying the minimum balance on most everything these days. -- Kendrick Kerwin Chua - kendrick@io.com - "Hey man, your bike's on fire."
