Burton Clyde "Burt" Ward
Burton Clyde "Burt" Ward, 28, of Charleston died Sunday,
Aug. 3, 2003, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston after a yearlong
battle with colon cancer.
Burt was born in Charleston, and lived in Columbus, Ohio, for several years before moving back home. He owned and operated a freelance resin- casting business and worked at a Columbus computer store. He was a 1993 graduate of George Washington High School, and had attended Marshall University in Huntington and Franklin University in Columbus.
He is survived by his mother, Ellen Ward of Charleston; father, William B. Ward Jr. of Charleston; sister, Rachel Ward of Charleston; grandfather, Robert Bennett of Charleston; aunts, Esthelene Corbett of Charleston, Lucy Fuller of Charleston, Anne Hogue of Kanawha City; cousin, John Fuller of Boca Raton, Fla.; cousin, Robert Fuller, wife, Michele and son, Lee, all of Charleston; special friend, Raksha of Columbus.
The body has been cremated. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care at 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, is in charge of arrangements.
