One correction by Jay R. ====== Notes ====== As usual with French theme songs for US series, or rather, with French theme songs written and produced by a certain group of people (probably AB), it is corny like hell. The last two paragraphs are just so...out of it, I don't know what to say. I suspect this is because the writers were out of ideas, so they started putting down nonsense. This happens more often. The first part is pretty decent, except for some slight canonical errors (Autobots wanting to conquer the universe?). I also suspect the writers did not have a clue as to which faction Optimus belonged to. But cluelessness of the songwriters regarding what they are writing about isn't strange to French themesongs (and the dubbing of the cartoons or animes). Professor Alcazar is the scientist who developed the anti-matter formula in the episode, "Roll For It". "Cosmotron" is a seemingly made-up word, which appears from the context to refer to Optimus' ship. There /is/ a sci-fi novel in the Tom Swift series called "Tom Swift and his Cosmotron Express" (1970), in which the Cosmotron Express is an incredibly fast spaceship. The cosmotron is also a part of Optimus Prime's anatomy, as revealed in "Divide and Conquer". Although the part is apparently vital, its function is unspecified. ====== Translation Notes ====== In hopes of conquering the universe Here it appears that the writers of the song screwed up a bit. In both French and English, what's written would mean that the _Autobots_ would try and conquer Earth, as they are the subject of this part of the song. The Autobots, car-truck-robots Assumed "car-truck" is meant as an adjective, and moved it in front of "robots" as is customary in English. In the struggle Of the heavens "In the stellar struggle" would be better, but that requires inverting the adjective/noun order which breaks the construction of the song pretty badly. The evil Or the good Who will be The winners? (Repeat) Literally: "The evil ones", "Or the good ones", "Who will be", "The champions?" Problem is here that "champion" has more than one meaning in French, and the one needed isn't covered well by the English meaning of the word. Therefore: "winners".
