After years of the "quasi-dates" (high school)... then years of my polite, annual "What are you up to?" phone calls (in our 20's)... then years of being apart and living our lives (in our 30's)... I finally sat my Adored One down (when we were 40 at a high school reunion)... told him what I had always thought and felt (as a "closure" to that time frame in my life). The evening of my closure speech, neither one of us knew the other one had been divorced for years.

As a result of the bravery in owning up to my feelings... getting them out there and then walking away from him... we've now been together as a real couple for 4 1/2 years and have been married for 3 1/2. We BOTH are very please with the results.
